Educational messages in the stories and tales of Mevlâna İdris Zengin's terms of character education

Character education is important for every child. Personality which is starting from from the young age has been continues shaped as the child grows. Child, feels that some of the characters in tales and stories he read or listen to are the close to himself, some of the does not feel close himself. In this study, it was aimed to study the educational messages of Mevlâna İdris Zengin's tales and stories in terms of character education. In this purpose, all of the tales and stories which Mevlâna İdris Zengin has written have been examined in two dimensions. In the first dimension, the relation between character and identification in child literal, has been depicted character features in the aouthor's works; in the second dimension, educational messages in the works were determinal. In the result of the examination, it is has been determined that many of the characters in the inspected works have positive features and it has been found that many of the characters have features that children can easily relate themselves and that these works are filled with rich messages in terms of character education. It has also been found that messages have been accordance with the principle fort he child's relativity.
