Abstract (EN)

The increase in the demand for cut flower procuction is observed in recent years in Turkey. In this demand increase the reasons such as urbanization, the increase in purchasing power, to gain more inportance and widespread in celebration and decoration activities with modern life activities are being effective. The clove plant is type of cut flower which is the most producing. Antalya region is the first place in our country in the carnation production. This situation is an indicator that the amount of carnation residue is more in Antalya region. To convert clove waste to source is on our hand. This plant wastes which is thought that is a waste and staying in greenhouses after harvest are a biomass source and can be optained biomass energy after as a result of certain operations. In this study, the evaluation as an energy sources of clove handle biomass wastes which occur in greenhouse cultivation is intended. The carnation wastes which are obtained from glasshouses are firstly dried, after grind in moving hammer mill from tractor tail shaft with 7.5 kW electric enginee power, it's capacity 70-100 kg.h-1 that depends on material type, flat mold circular perforated, the pelletizing in pelletizer machine which has 6 mm mold exit hole diameter, to determine physical properties related with the quality of pellets are intended. The pelleting tests are realized in 3 different moisture contents which are %9-10, %12-13, %15-16 and in 3 different particle sizes (the material which grind in hammer mill that sieve hole diameters are 2 mm, 4 mm and 6 mm. Related with physical properties of obtained pellets, pellet part and volume density, moisture content, dehumidification situation, endurance resistance and pressure resistance are determined. Furthermore, the production capacity of pelleting machine and energy consumption values as well are measured End of study, circular pellets are achieved that diameters are average between 6.2 - 6.6 mm which depen on material size and moisture content. The bulk and part densities of pellets had changed depen on material size and moisture content respectively between 530.5-690.5 kg.m-3 and 1014.2-1236.5 kg.m-3 and when moisture content had increased, density value had decreased. The endurance resistance values had changed between %92.9-97.6 and the most endurance pellet part size 4mm, had obtained from trial which has %9-10 moisture content. The production capacity of pelleting machine and the electricity consumption value had changed depen on material size and moisture content respectively between 78.2-112.6 kg.h-1 and 6.6-7.6 kWh.
