Özet (EN)

Aim: In this research, it was aimed to determine the antifungal properties of some algae isolated from the Erzincan Karasu River. Material and Methods: Antifungal properties of algae (Cladophora crispata and Gloeotila subconstricta) isolated from benthic habitats of Erzincan Karasu River by mechanical isolation method, on some fungi (Penicillium sp., Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea) isolated from vineyards in Erzincan Merkez villages and purified in culture medium, were investigated by disc diffusion method. Results: The antifungal effects of methanol extracts of Cladophora crispata and Gloeotila subconstricta (Basionym: Ulothrix subconstricta) on Penicillium sp., Alternaria alternata and Botrytis cinerea fungi were determined in the culture medium. It was effective against the fungi Cladophora crispata, Botrytis cinerea and Alternaria alternata. Penicillium sp showed resistance. Gloeotila subconstricta was effective on A. alternata, Penicillium showed resistance too. Conclusion: As a result of the tests carried out in the culture medium, relatively good antifungal properties were observed in the studied algae and significant results were recorded against the fungi that were effective in the gardens in Erzincan. In this respect, the pharmaceutical properties determined in the algae that are the subject of the study have the potential to be a source for future studies with detailed compound analyzes as a result of increasing the amount of algae by producing them.
