Abstract (EN)
In our country highways have the largest capacity of transportation of goods and passengers. Although very high investment are stated for highway transportations, performance and technicality of these investments are not discussed. A good highway is not the highway that has very high number of networks. A good highway should have the optimum number of networks which will cause the least accidents ,servers max number of people and servers functionally.Junctions are the most important highway members where , in our country , a lot of accidents accur and people loose a lot of time.Highway junctions can be divided into two groups as urban junctions and country juctions. In this work the deficiencies and malfunctions of country junctions are analyzed. How two salve these problems and which methodology , should be used is studied. Also attention has been paid to use concrete examples inthis study.In this work capacity safety and economical aspects of junctions are studied. These 3 parameters can not be evaluated seperately for junctions. In our country junctions are designed as same grade junctions or grade separated junctions. At these designs there are no basis but the initiative of some people . In this thesis the purpase is to create a technical base that capacity and safety parameters are taken into account with a paint scoring system and economical aspect is included with an evaluation phase. The developed system based on the problems of the present same grade junctions , can be affered as asolution.At our study both junctions present at state and country roads and junctions planned to be constructed are analysed using the developed capacity (50 percent), Safety (50 percent). Capacity is analysed using 5 main point types , CST (Capacity, sufficiency,time) and safety is analysed by using 19 junction infrastructure parameters. For these analyses the junctions having 60 points or above are decided to be sufficient however , within the life span of the junction (CAT) operational (maintenance and accidental) costs are demanded. On the other hand,ıf the junctions are decided to be not sufficient, the cost of new junction planned to be constructed and operational (maintenance and accidental) costs are demanded.
