Abstract (EN)

Transportation has become one of the leading sectors of our age. So much so that once the only common method was road transport, for the last 5-6 centuries, maritime transport has changed the trade maps of the world. On the other hand, technological developments in the last two centuries have turned rail transport into one of the top investment items of the countries along with other logistics resources. In addition to these, considering the river transport and liquid / gas loads carried by pipes, it is clear that the diversity of services in the sector is open to development. Both the cost advantages of diversity and the discovery of different alternatives for destinations have transformed transport into a multimodal process. But there is a problem in all these processes, which is where and in what condition the goods are being transported. In this study, we searched the answers to the questions about how to monitor the goods in different multimodal transport scenarios. During the study, value stream mapping was used to determine the current situation and where traceability was hampered. In addition, why information about when and where the product is located is important for both the sender and the receiver. As a result, it has been mentioned that during the whole transportation process, at what stages, what kind of add-ons can be used to achieve full visibility.
