Abstract (EN)
Pressure wounds; It is a health problem that can cause morbidity and mortality, prolong hospital stay, increase cost and workload. Preventable pressure sores are considered as indicators of quality nursing care by applying risk assessment and preventive care in the early period. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors that facilitate pressure wound formation in patients with cardiovascular surgery. The study population consisted of all patients who had undergone cardiovascular surgery between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2015 at Kartal Koşuyolu High Specialization Training and Research Hospital. The study group consisted of 136 patients with pressure ulcers in intensive care unit and 136 patients who were not randomly selected pressure ulcers for the control group. SPSS 23.0 program was used in the analysis. The data obtained were evaluated with mean, standard deviation, frequency, ratio, minimum, maximum, Student t Test, Mann Whitney U, Pearson Chi-Square test. As a result of the research; A significant difference was found between the patients with and without pressure sores in terms of age, body mass index, diet, laboratory findings, Braden risk score and time to change position. There was no significant gender difference between patients with and without pressure sores. Pressure sores were found in the sacrum region in 73,5% of the patients, and in Stage II in 57,4% of the patients, and developed on an average of 5,68 ± 2,14 days. As a result; factors such as advanced age, anemia, low albumin, moisture, and immobility facilitate pressure wound formation. Within the scope of nursing care practices, early risk assessment and preventive care are recommended for patients at high risk.
