Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between career awareness, coping styles with stress, and future anxieties among university students studying in the psychological counseling and guidance department in Istanbul during the 2023-2024 academic year. This research was developed according to the relational survey design using the quantitative method. A comparative model was chosen to investigate whether variables differ based on gender, class level, and type of university. The sample consists of 292 students selected through purposive sampling. As for data collection tools, the Future Anxiety Scale for University Students, Coping Styles with Stress Scale, and Career Awareness Scale were used. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used for intergroup comparisons of variables (gender, age, class level). Spearman correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between variables, and Post Hoc test Schefee analysis was used for examining relationships between levels. Multivariate regression analysis was conducted to investigate how career awareness and coping styles with stress predict future anxieties. The quantitative findings indicate a significant impact of students' career awareness and coping styles with stress on their future anxieties, with future anxiety being moderately predicted by career awareness and coping styles with stress.
