Evaluation of traditional women ornaments in Kars,Ardahan and Igdır

Owing to the archeological heritages which were obtained from archeological digs, it is registered that humanity has been using ornaments which were made of various natural materials and metals during the history..It is ascertained that,most of the personal ornaments which were used in the past and also are being currently used to prevent hexes, disasters, naturel disasters and beside that to bring fortune to whom used it, make him/her more powerful and prevent his/her health problems.During the researches it is registered that,the ornaments have been using since the ages of B.C. In the Anotalia, the most important examples are the ornaments taken out from the Çayönü and Çatalhöyük digs which were done in the first half of 7000-6000 B.C. It?s ascertained that,different naturel materials were used in these ornamentsIt is possible to see the feelings,lifestyles and creativity that is combined with the nature which belonged to artists who are owner of these works,while making a research about ornament instances from Anatolia's historical terms to present. Old experts has always improved the original style which belonged to their culture, near of using motifs which were their own culture inheritance and technics.The researchs are done over the traditional woman ornaments which exist in Kars ,Ardahan and Iğdır provinces.The analyses of the research area are composed direct of ornaments examples and informations which taken from the derivation men in local.The photos of ornaments were taken, the observation plugs were filled and documented in the catalogs in this region.Research result brought out that, the old importance of traditional woman ornaments has been lost and began to be forgotten. It is ascertained that the number of craftsmen and producers whom cared with this work has decreased day by day. There has been no more traditional ornament on the daily life in Kars.The deserved value is understood that, in the special days the ornaments which are indispensable accessory for clothing of women who have Sırğalar, Çiğciye, Sinsile and Garabattah are currently being produced and to be continued to hang as a gift for a bride in the weddings in Iğdır.Not only to find traditional ornaments mightily in the city center of Ardahan, but also one of towns which introduced to the world to protect traditional structure called Damal has a deserved reputation to make production continue and to protect the old products. Owing to this aspect Damal contributes to the tourism.To make a comparison among the ornaments which involved of research and today?s ornaments; The difference of technical and design structure was determined. Ornaments which were produced by traditional methods were embellished with floral figures and handcrafted. On the other hand today?s modern ornaments are manufactured in series with machines.
