Keçecizâde İzzet Molla, lived in early years of XIXth century, contributed to the period with his work is an important poet and statesman. Even if İzzet Molla, accepted as the last great represantative of classical Turkish poetry after Şeyh Gâlib maintains his loyalty to the external form of classical Turkish poetry, he is an efficient poet able to bring unique differences and innovations to poetry. The poet, who lived in the most troubled period of the Ottoman States both literary and political, didn't remain reckless to the political events and social life of the period, he also contributed to the history science by examining all details about political, military and cultural activities and architectural, financial and govermental structure within and outside the imperial borders especially in İstanbul within the reign of III. Selim and II. Mahmud especially in his most comprehensive work Dîvân-ı Bahâr-ı Efkâr. Key Words: Keçecizâde İzzet Molla, Classical Turkish Poetry of XIX th Century, Social Life.
