Abstract (EN)

In this study; investigation of enrichment of Eti Krom A.Ş. (Guleman, Alacakaya, Elazığ) Kef Concentrator II. Reichert Cone tailings (18–22% Cr2O3) using MGS (Multi Gravity Separator) as one of the gravity separation methods. As a result of qualitative phase analysis, the main components of the sample were Magnesichromite, Forsterite, Ringwoodite, Magnesium Chromate and it was found that the semi-quantitative element analysis contained 16.38% Cr2O3. MGS pre-enrichment experiments were designed as a total of 15 experiments including Box-Behnken 3 factors and 3 levels. At the end of the experimental study using optimal working conditions (200 rpm rotation speeds, 30o drum slope and 15 secs frequency), a concentrate was obtained having a content of 23.50% Cr2O3, 16.35% Fe2O3, 10.43% Al2O3 and 14.87% SiO2. However, considering that the concentrate obtained after the pre-enrichment experimental study was not meet the marketability conditions in the market therefore MGS working conditions were regulated applying different working parameters and subjected to MGS tests for re-run (DEU, Mining Engineering Department laboratories). The enrichment with the most appropriate value working parameters contained 35.04% Cr2O3 grade concentrate from the feed (19.50% Cr2O3) with 3.09 enrichment rate and 58.18% metal recovery was obtained.
