Abstract (EN)
This study aims to present aindigenous and an authentic literary methodology in order to extract the sociological information provided by Turkish novel. It further seeks to make some suggestions so that literary sociology ceases to become a subfield of sociology but an innovative scientific endevaour. Literary work carries an aesthetic function; morover, it also creates a field of reality affecting socio-cultural arena and being affected by it. Literary system such as language, rhetoric, reading, writing, publishing, which establishes a network of relations among themselves, also forges a strong bond with society. Uncovering this undeniable bond can be used to have direct information about social reality, or to understand, to interpret and even to direct social phenomena with socially useful data. Kemal Tahir's novels, which occupy an important place with their social theories, conception of history and ideological orientations, are evaluated under the light of new developments in the sociology of literature.
