Kemterî and his poems (Examination-text)

This study was prepared on examining the poems of the poet with the pseudonym Kemterî, which are included in the manuscript numbered OE_Yz_0723 that we found in the Istanbul Municipality Atatürk Library.The work we found in the IBB Ataturk library was recorded as a magazine in the library. There are poems by other poets at the end and in different parts of the work. When we look at the content of these poems, we see that there are Alevism-Bektashiism elements. The section containing these poems consists of ten pages. The poems of Kemterî, who lived in the 19th century and whose real name is Râşid Ali, start from the 12th leaf in this work. Although there are poems by different poets in some parts of the work, which has a total of 108 leaves, we can say that the poems in its approximately 70 leaves belong to Kemterî. Kemterî, who is known to have a divan in Saadettin Nüzhet Ergun's collection, has a total of 119 poems in this work. Kemterî wrote most of his poems in ghazal verse form, and after ghazal, he mostly used terci-i bend verse form. In addition to these, there are stanzas, murabbas, muhammes, tahmis, terkib-i bend and müfred. One of the striking features of Kemterî's poems is that he used folk literature verse forms as well as divan literature verse forms. His poems include "nefes" written in syllabic meter. Based on this, we can say that Kemterî used both folk and divan literature verse forms. The content of Kemterî's poems consists of elements belonging to the Bektashiism tradition. The love of Hz. Muhammad, Hz. Ali, Hz. Hasan, Hz. Hussein, Hz. Fatima and Ahl al-Bayt, Yazid the Karbala incident, the pain he felt from what happened, and the Twelve Imams constitute the content of his poems. Our study consists of introduction and four main headings. In the introduction, it is informed about the state of divan literature and Alevi-Bektashi literature in 19th century. In the first part, Kemterî's life and literary personality are included; in the second part, Kemterî's poems are examined in terms of form and content; in the third part, Kemterî's poems are evaluated in terms of Bektashiism elements; in the fourth part, the translated text of Kemterî's poems, the elements taken into consideration in the construction of the text and facsimiles of the text are included.
