Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to analyze the adequacy of stormwater drainage gutters on Şanlıurfa road, one of the busiest urban roads of Diyarbakır city, in terms of number and capacity and to analyze their performance in terms of surface drainage. In order to determine the stormwater inlet locations of the road section between Nazım Hikmet Street and Mahabad Boulevard and the stormwater inlet locations of the road section between Yeni Hal Interchange underpass entrance and Kantar Interchange underpass entrance, the two application areas were divided into 7 and 5 road sections respectively, Manning and Rational Method were used to calculate the water carrying capacity of the rainwater gutters, and the distance between the rainwater inlets was calculated according to the dimensions of the grid type gutters specified by the highway regulations for the existing layout on the road, and the number and capacities of the existing gutters were compared, and it was evaluated by hydraulic analysis whether the capacity and number of rainwater gutters of the road section selected as the application area were sufficient. As a result of the evaluation, it was determined that the existing stormwater inlets of the road selected as the application area were inadequate in terms of capacity and number of stormwater inlets and also their layout was incorrect.
