Examination of the relations of urban landscape and aesthetic perception in the context of landscape characters of Muratpaşa district of Antalya city

Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of the study, the relationship between Antalya city Muratpaşa District urban landscapes, landscape characters and perception of urban aesthetics was examined. For this purpose, Muratpaşa CORINE 4th level area cover classification with 24 different classes, the building order of the district, building heights, urban texture types, transportation networks, city and building typology maps and urban open green space density are examined and the sampling area for the landscape character analysis of Muratpaşa District pattern was created and landscape character analyzes were carried out in a total of 35 selected areas. For the analysis of urban aesthetics, surveys of perception of urban aesthetics were applied with 8 areas displaying multiple characters. Different occupational groups, students, people living in different cities and the people of Antalya answered the questionnaire. In addition to the multiple frequencies of the survey data, the relationships between the principles and elements of visual design, landscape characters and urban aesthetics were evaluated, and the components of "urban aesthetics" were defined for the city of Antalya. All data were interpreted in the light of the duties of the Urban Aesthetic Committees within the scope of the Planned Areas Zoning Regulation, and planning and design solutions and suggestions were developed to improve the Muratpaşa District in terms of urban aesthetics and the basic components of the Urban Design Guidelines for Muratpaşa District were defined in the context of the perception of urban aesthetics and characters.
