Abstract (EN)

In the study, it was aimed that treatment of urban wastewater of Karaisalı in this constructed wetland and reuse of this water as irrigation water at urban area. Constructed wetland was designed with Typha latifolia Influent and effluent water were monitored regularly during the study. Irrigation experiments were conducted in field and pot with Cynodon dactylon (in field and pot), Jacaranda mimosifolia (in field), Platanus orientalis (in field and pot) and Nerium oleander (in field and pot). In the study, treated water is suitable for discharge standarts for BOD, COD, TSS and pH. Inspite of microbiological treatment is very high, treated water is not suitable for using as irrigation water for agricultural purposes. In the study third class irrigation water was obtained. Plant growth and quality had possitive effect from irrigation with treated water. Positive effect on turf grass quality supplied with irrigation water. Negative effects are occured at J. mimosifolia. Medium growth is occured for P. orientalis and N. oleander. Treated water can used for green areas and nurseries with irrigation purpose. Quantity of open green area that is irrigate with treated wastewater from a person is 15-20 m2 providing that irrigation 1 hour/day. Treated water application is not a pollution source for soil.
