Abstract (EN)
Today, investigation of the causes of conservation problems, reducing or eliminating the risks that threaten the cultural heritage, and for this purpose, planning the risk management are new and priority issues for conservation scientists. Creating the solutions, by focusing on the causes of problems, ensures sustainability in conservation applications. In this thesis, it is aimed to create a management model for analyze the risks threatening the cultural heritage and reducing these risks. In the thesis, unlike the current studies on risk analysis and mitigation, the risks, that affect the buildings both physically and indirectly, are handled in a holistic manner. It is aimed to follow this management model with Geographic Information Systems. In the management model; on-site survey, social survey, AutoCAD and ArcGIS software and physical and socio-cultural analysis, documentation and mapping stages formed the framework of the model. In Eğirdir, which is chosen as the study area of the model, there are the castle, which is the 1st degree archaeological site, and the 3rd degree site around it, the natural site areas Yeşilada and Can Ada, and partly preserved areas in the district center. Traditional houses, monumental structures with different functions and environmental elements in this urban fabric; they were partially demolished or partially ruined over time due to risks such as development works, reconstrucitons, tourism, population exchange and migration. Demolition decision has been issued for the structures that have survived but are at risk of collapse. For these reasons, it has been understood that an urgent and comprehensive risk management system is needed for the Eğirdir urban conservation area, and the management model has been implemented in the Eğirdir urban conservation area, at risk of extinction. As a result, the Risk Analysis and Mitigation Management Model (RAAYM) set forth in the thesis will form a base for the conservation works to be carried out in Eğirdir District and can be applied in all urban conservation areas.
