Abstract (EN)
The Historic Peninsula is a historical and cultural center of Istanbul and as of 2005, this region has been included in the urban renewal program. In the project, which was announced by the local administration on the basis of its historical background, it was announced that the neighborhood was renamed as the Turkish Quarter. There are 15 civil architecture buildings and 4 monuments in 4 islands and 68 parcels. Within the scope of the thesis, in addition to the evaluation of the applications in this region in the context of urban renewal, the architectural practices which were made were evaluated within the framework of preserving the historical texture and staying true to the essence. In addition, the extent to which the approaches stated in the project objectives are implemented and implemented are also discussed in the research.
