Abstract (EN)

Small dams, cover river valley to collect water; are structures that serve purposes like; energy generation, supply of drinking, irrigation, industrial water and also regulation of stream flow. It is possible to choose multiple types of body when constructing a small dam. For this reason; aim of build, safety and feasibility of dam must be considered with required parameters to choose the most suitable type of body. In order to choose the type of the dam; location of small dam, geological, hydrological, topographical surveys, quarry assignment, quarry reserve measurement, environmental impact assessment and economic feasibility are required. This study analyzes body type selection factors of Deredolu Small Dam; located in Deredolu Township, Kelkit District, Gümüşhane City, Blacksea Region, Turkey. This small dam has been constructed for irrigation. Deredolu Small Dam which is under construction has Rock Filled Clay Core body type. Various types have been formed and comparison of each type is made by analyzing economic feasibility and slope stability using GeoStudio Software.
