Abstract (EN)

In this study, it?s been aimed to determine the adaptation mechanisms of Kilis goat genotypes under hot and dry climate conditions. Study has been conducted on the native Kilis goats raised at the private Farm at Gaziantep district. During this study, anatomical adaptation mechanisms, morphological adaptation mechanisms, physiological adaptation mechanisms under optimum and hot climate conditions, lactation performances of Kilis goats have been examined. At the end of the study, it?s been determined that, increasing environmental temperature creates a thermal stress. However, it?s also been observed that, thermal stress has not been reflected in the performance of goats. Kilis goats have some adventagous traits to alleviate heat stres effect and they can maintain their performances such as lactation and kidding in such conditions. Thus, they can recomended as main goat types for hot and dry climate.
