Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to investigate the affect of grab start and conventionalstart to the performance in swimming by the kinematic approach. For this aim; 7male whose ages are 14,25±1,48 years, weight 61,00±6,78 kg and height 170,5±3,27cm and 8 female whose ages are 13,5±1,31 years, weight 52,87±6,08 kg and height165,37±6,28 cm swimmers? knee angle on the starting block, distance and time offirst contact with water, angle of entry into the water and performances at the first 10metres were analysed. In this investigation, swimmers performed conventional and the grab start andeach technique was performed twice by the swimmers and filmed by one 100 HzBasler video camera and evaluated in Simi Motion 6.2. By these values, kinematicalanalysis was done in SPSS for Windows 10,0 statistic programme. With thisprogramme, defined statistics were done and signifiance of difference betweenswimming starts was tested with the samples test. For male swimmers significant difference was found in angle of entry into thewater at p<0,05. Significant difference was found between grab and conventionalstart at p<0,01 in first 10 metres performance. For female swimmers, significantdifference was found between grab and conventional starts at p<0,05 in angle ofentry into the water. Significant difference was found between grab and conventionalstarts at p<0,05 in distance between starting block and first contact with hands to thewater. Significant difference was found between grab and conventional start atp<0,01 in first 10 metres performance.According to the findings of the study, it is shown that grab start effectsperformance more positively than conventional start. It was reached to this result bythe data having been got kinematically. Keywords: Kinematic, grab start in swimming, conventional start inswimmingv
