Abstract (EN)
The level of success of the organizations depends on the productivity of the employees as well as the ability of the employees to express the problems they see in the organization, to take initiative and to participate in the decisions. Based on this idea, it was tried to determine the mediating role of attitude towards decision-making and procrastination behavior in the effect of personality traits on social courage behavior at work. Teachers who made their own decisions in educational activities and were expected to show courage behavior were selected in the context of the research universe variables. The sample group was determined as the teachers working at the high school level in Çorum as of the date of the application. As a result of the survey application, the data obtained from 556 participants were analyzed statistically. The data obtained after the survey application was first tested in terms of suitability for the analysis. In this direction, the assumptions foreseen in order to analyze the main hypotheses of the study were tested. Then, the validity and reliability of the scales were analyzed. After it was understood that the research data and scales had the qualifications to be used in the analysis, the analyzes were started. Descriptive analyzes were made using the SPSS program. Structural equation models established to test the main hypotheses of the study were analyzed through the AMOS program. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the personality traits (conscientiousness, extraversion, openness to experience, neuroticism) of the teachers had an effect on their workplace social courage behavior and that attitude towards participation in decisions and procrastination behavior had a mediating role on this effect. On the other hand, it has been determined that attitude towards participation in decisions has a negative and significant effect on procrastination behavior and procrastination behavior has a negative and significant effect on the workplace social courage behavior. In this context, since brave people are role models, these people can be assigned to jobs that are more visible and require teamwork. Considering that decision making is a skill job, studies can be done to develop decision making skills. In order to prevent the procrastination behavior from becoming chronic, internal control systems can be created. It is thought that the results obtained and the suggestions made will contribute to the school administrators and to the researchers in similar studies to be carried out in the future.
