Abstract (EN)
Parrot is one of the important metaphors of classical Turkish poetry. Many poets in ancient Turkish literature used parrots and elements related to parrots in their poems. In our study, we tried to determine the usage patterns of the parrot, which was featured with various features in the divans of poets living between the 14th and 19th centuries. In our study, information is given about the characteristics of the parrot, beliefs and idioms about the parrot, its place in masnavis and prose works, its physical and character characteristics, and the places where it is found; The parrot has been evaluated in the context of love, minstrel, poet, poetry and religious persons. His relationship with birds, plants and objects is emphasized. Information about the frequency of use of the parrot and its characteristics in divans is given and the couplets on the subject are explained.
