Investigation of girth and tablet weaving examples: the sample of Antalya Museum

It is a fact that the fabric, which has been found to accompany the development process of humanity since the Neolithic Age, occupies an important place in human life and has a wide range of uses from shelter to covering. When the breadth of usage area, diversity in production techniques and local differences are added, a wide area of investigation emerges. One of the weaving types, each of which has been the subject of detailed research, is seamless weaving and this type is divided into two sub-types as girth and tablet weaving. These types of weaving, among which only the weaving technique is different, has been the subject of many studies. However, it has been observed that girth and tablet weavings found in the Antalya Museum, which has a rich variety of works, were not examined within the scope of any research. Based on this inspiration, within the scope of this study, it is aimed to examine all girth and tablet weavings in Antalya Museum. The context of the research is Antalya Museum, and 65 girths and tabelt weaving in this museum constituted the sample of the study conducted based on document analysis. The document number of the girth and tablet weavings in the Antalya Museum, the date of arrival at the museum, the way of coming to the museum, the weaving material, weaving size, weaving technique, the pattern and the complementary features of the weaving used in weaving are important and important to the literature.
