Analysis of the religious character image in the comedian drama Turkish cinema

The transformation of religious images into stereotypes in the cinema takes place in every aspect of our lives. Cinema is one of the indispensable means of propaganda. Because the cinema with the television has the possibility to reach more people at the same time. Due to this characteristic of the cinema, while the religious character image is told to the people, it is often reflected as bad character and negative, The purpose of this study is to explain how religious character image is used to transform the situation in Turkish cinema into typography in cinema works. By starting from this aim, firstly basic concepts related to religion and cinema are discussed. Then religion and the history of cinema process in Turkey, then the reflection of the religious character of the Turkish cinema images were analyzed. For this purpose, films of religious character typed in Turkish cinema during the period of 1970-2015, presentation of religious character type in these films and attitude of Turkish cinema to religion character typed in this information light have been investigated. The analysis of the attitude towards the religious character image of the Turkish cinema according to the 'religious character' or the representation forms of the characters in the films based on the religious character image constitutes the basic basis of this study. Move from here; how religious character images are represented in Turkish cinema, how they show religious character typology, and whether these representations and approaches have changed over time.
