Abstract (EN)
Use of external resources refers to the transfer of the activities not falling into the sphere of its competence to an outsider company specialized in the respective field. An enterprise eager to rely on outsourcing is to identify its primary and secondary activities. This approach widely employed in all sectors in the world is now consulted in tourism sector in our country as well.Tourism is a labor intensive sector. Services are provided by the service givers who maintain direct interaction with the customers. The customer satisfaction holds a key place in the sector. Considering that the level of customer satisfaction depends on the quality of the service to be provided, the quality of service provided by the employees with high level of satisfaction will improve, thereby contributing to the enhancement of customer satisfaction and corporate efficiency. In an attempt to identify the mutual impacts between these two significant notions, this study seeks to determine the effects of outsourcing upon the employee satisfaction; to this end, 147 participants are picked for participation in a survey to define the current situation. The most important factors affecting the satisfaction of the participants with respect to outsourcing suggest that the employees feel incompetent, that they become alienated to the organization and that their performance is negatively affected in the presence of outsourcing activities. The most important problems that the participants encounter include waste of time due to outsourcing practices, inability to maintain harmony between the departments and the organizations and conflicts between the fields of responsibilities of the subcontractors and the employees of the company. The analyses based on demographic factors demonstrate that there are significant differences in the level of satisfactions and the problems encountered. It is also determined that the level of satisfaction is relatively low in the female participants. The study further finds that the level of satisfaction of the older participants in terms of the impact of outsourcing upon individual performance is relatively low and that the participants with further experience are inclined to be less satisfied with the employment of expert labor. It is also concluded that the employees with a graduate degree as well as employees working in the supplemental services and food and beverage courts are visibly more satisfied.
