Ladik carpets in ethnography museum of Konya and their visual analyses

Ethnography Museum of Konya was established as Müze-i Hümayun at 1901 and transformed to Mevlânâ Museum at 1927. The ethnographic belongings which has been brought from Mevlânâ Dervish Lodge was opened to visit in the name of "Ethnography Museum of Konya" in 6th of December, 1975. The museum which has been settled at Sâhibata Street in Meram settlement, Konya serves in a two-story reinforced-concrete construction; the exhibition hall is on the ground floor. There are many pieces over 6000 in the museum. The carpets are the most attractive pieces of the museum. At the top of this list, there is a piece of gilded carpet of 13th century which came from Beyşehir Eşrefoğlu Mosque, in addition 15th-century carpet came from the same mosque and also some Kula, Lâdik, Karapınar and Gördes carpets.There is not any academic studies about most of these carpets in the museum. All the information about these carpets is just their era written in the inventory, also from whom and where they come to this museum. However, this information is insufficient. There is a critical need of academic studies to discover that how these carpets which are remained to present-day were produced, what the conditions were and also what kind of necessity caused to be produced.
