Research on bead embroidary which is still decorated in Seydişehir; Konya

Handworks came into existance through the human needs due to the natural conditions, developed according to the changing needs and pleasures and yielded with the existance of the most developed and valuable and beautiful pieces. Handworks are the cultural products which enable the cuntinuity of the societis. These products, which are the most concrete examples of the country are the bridges from the past to the present and are the most important documents which enable us tu learn and identify the mystisizm of the past lives. Pinkings, which are the delicate and elegant examples of our handworks are classified as Turkish lace and can not be faund in any where else. Our pinkings, which have a rich variety and past in Anatolia were born in need of decoration or ornamentation and were also used as a cummunication device through their messaye praperties known a many the society. Anatolia is a very rich source for pinking. Wherever we go, we find a different kind of pinking. Through this study, which carries the properties of research and documentation, the bead pinkings of Seydişehir district of Konya city are examined. The study consists of six chapters and the projeck studies an implementations at the annex are the complementary parts. The first chapter is the introduction of the information a bout handworks and pinkings. In this chapter, the information a bout the definition of the topppic, the importance of the selection of the topic, the aim of the study, the limits of the study, materials and methods used are presented. In the second chapter, there are the brief summaries of the literature in formation of the study and the region. In the third chapter, which consists of the literature information, there is information a baut Konya city and Seydişehir district. Furthermore, the literature information such as the general information a baut the pinkings, their definition,296 history, their role and importance in Turkish culture, bead pinkings and their classification, tools and devices used are also presented in this chapter. The fourth chapter cansists of the findings and comments. In this chapter, the information which was abtained through one to ane, interview in the refian is presented. The information such as the role Seydişehir, the tools and devices used in the bead pinking, the technigues implemented, colors used, motives and composition properties, dimensions are given and evaliated through organizing them into the tables. In the fifth chapter, there are the systematicly classified abservation cards which contain sample drawings and sample information of the pinkings whic are found through the investifations in the refion. In the sixth chapter, there is the conslusion and the profosals and at the bibliography section, the oral and written sources were given in alphabetical order. The samples of the abservation card which was used to obtain the information in the region, the interview document, product information cards a baut the three products are presented at the annex.
