The waqfs of Köprülü Fazıl Ahmed Pasha

As much as the importance of Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha in terms of the Ottoman History, the waqfs which he founded have importance equally in terms of Social Historyography. In the XVII. century Ottoman Empire experienced a big crisis. The state started to search solutions to be able to get rid of this situation. Köprülü Mehmet Pasha who arose through the XVII. century and later Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha also tried to release the state from this situation. Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha who is the main subject of our study, enriched his political achivements with the waqfs he made build in different regions of Otoman Empire. Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha tried to think all parts of society by making library, madrasah, adeuduct, mosque, inn etc. built. However, we see that a few of the Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha?s foundations survived till today. under the light of the evidences we have.Key words: Köprülü Fazıl Ahmet Pasha, Waqfs, Charter of a Waqf, XVII.
