Abstract (EN)
The legends of Karakalpak Köroğlu, being a product of Karakalpak's oral culture, has yet to be brought to our language. Our top priority in this study is to translate the lagend of "Awezhan" from the Karakalpak Köroğlu stories, to Turkey's Turkish. Our secondary objective is to investigate this text through the Folklore methods. As a result of this work, the "Awezhan" legend, an artifact of Karakalpak's oral traditions, has been brought to Turkey's Turkish for the benefit of readers and researchers. Subsequently, by investigating the text in accordance with the Folklore methods, the structure and the content of the text was determined and the motif was scanned in accordance with the Motif Index of Folk Literature.
