Abstract (EN)

Coronary artery disease (CAD) which developed by atherosclerosis is a primary cause of mortality in developed country and increasingly all over the world. The development of CAD is a complex and unpredictable disease, and is related to many factors including biochemical, genetic and environmental factors. Different invasive and noninvasive methods have been used for early diagnosis and treatment of CAD.Presence of limited noninvasive tools for diagnosis of CAD have caused to develop new diagnostic tools. Multi slice CT (MSCT) has become widespread and could evaluate CAC score with a high sensitivity, thus it has been a new opportunity to predict risc and prognostic value of coronary artery calsıum (CAC) score in CAD.This has helped more publication and data to be collected on this field recently.İn our study have found that CAC score in CAD group was statistically significant more increased than NCA group. Our study data showed that, predicting CAD risc in asymptomatic patient and in symptomatic patient who had low or intermediate risc, before deciding to do coronary angiography, to evaluate CAC score by MSCT can give us an important information about patient CAD risc. By this way the amount of conventional angiography, rate of complication caused by process and the cost may be decreased.İn our study there was no statistically significant difference of CAC score between ACS patient group and SAP patient group. We think that the CAC score which was evaluated cross sectional not enough to predict the development of ACS. Therefore progresive increase in the CAC amount of the same petient may be more useful in predicting the prognosis, or for this purpose following up the patient according to basic CAC score for a long time may increase the relationship between basic CAC scoring and acut cardiovascular event. İn this field can be achieved more satisfactory result from the large and well designed new studies relationship between CAC score and acut cardiovascular event.
