Investigation of the benefits of SME's from the support by KOSGEG: Example of Ardahan province

Due to the high share of SMEs in employment creation and production has a very important place in Turkey's economy. In addition, SMEs are one of the important actors in the development process because they can easily adapt to competition and are flexible. Despite their importance in terms of size and potential they carry different structural despite SMEs in Turkey are not able to access the performance expected from them. The main reason for this is the problems they face in such areas as financing and working capital. This situation makes it difficult for SMEs to develop, compete, create employment and last longer. The development of SMEs in Turkey and the attendant institutions in order to create a socio-economic benefits to expect from them has an important place KOSGEB. In this study, the status of SMEs which are active in the province of Ardahan, which is in the lower ranks of development, can be benefited from KOSGEB supports.As a result of the research; In order to support SMEs, it has been determined that bureaucratic obstacles and processes should be reduced, facilitation of support allocations, planning of supports given according to long-term results, arrangement according to the needs of the region, being more transparent and improving efficiency. In addition, it was understood that there is a need for special measures and policies both financially and in terms of education, which will enable SMEs in Ardahan to have access to domestic and international markets.
