The management at the village schools and its problems (For the city of İstanbul)

In this research, it is aimed to show the problems of the principals who work at the primary schools in the villages of Istanbul about school management and also the reasons of these problems. This study has been applied to 65 principals who work at the village schools in Istanbul. Scanning model and also an investigation form which is developed by the writer for finding data has been used. According to the principals who work at the village schools, There are transportation problems because the villages are distant to the centre of the city and the numbers of the vehicles between these places and the centre of the city are not sufficient. There are not enough education devices and rooms at the village schools and they have not also enough physical condition for pre-school education At the village schools the absence of the teachers who are permanent in staff is a big problem. There are problems about teachers? transportation and shelter at the villages. The main problems are there are not enough social and cultural activities and the students can not benefit from counselling and psychological services sufficiently at the village schools. The absence of the established officials who help the principals for the management of the school is an important problem and also the absence of the employees is big difficulty for the cleanliness and attendance of the school at the village schools. At the village schools, the families having not aware of the importance of the education and being not willing to participate in meetings at schools are important problems. The families and management of the villages have not also social possibilities. For these reasons, needs of the schools like repair maintenance or salaries of employees can not be covered sufficiently.
