Credit guarantee fund application in Turkish Banking Sector and its effects on company's financial ratios

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the benefits to the country's economy and companies by examining the credit guarantee systems that emerged as a solution to the lack of collateral faced by enterprises in accessing the financing they need, and the practices of its representative in Turkey, Kredi Guarantee Fund A.Ş. For this purpose, in the first part of the study which consists of 3 parts except introduction, general concepts related to credit guarantee systems are given and the development of the system in the world and in Turkey is explained. In the second part, the applications of the institution and the allocation processes in the banks are discussed by giving information about the Credit Guarantee Fund A.Ş. İn the third part of the study, the development of KGF loans between the years 2016-2020 and the data of GDP, employment, foreign trade, investment and manufacturing industry were compared using the same series of macro data and the effects of KGF were investigated. Thereafter, the effects on the banking sector as of the same years were examined by comparing them over capital adequacy ratio, returned check figures and NPL ratios. After giving place to the studies in the literature on KGF loans, the use of KGF loans in a commercial store of a bank in Antalya Province in 2017, the ratios earned by the customer, excluding SMEs and after the loan, were affected by the results, and the result obtained was comprehensively evaluated.
