Abstract (EN)

Rhymes, which hold an important place in the oral tradition of Turkish folk literature, are usually fast, difficult and rhythmic expressions that attract attention with their entertaining structure. Rhymes, which are particularly common among children, support children's language development and also contribute to the transmission of cultural values from generation to generation. Rhymes, known as "cañılmaç" in Kyrgyz, are examples of folk literature that reflect the creativity and linguistic richness of the Kyrgyz people. In this respect, it is possible to say that while there are many studies on Kyrgyz rhymes, which are an important research topic in Turkology, linguistic studies are not sufficient. This study was conducted with the aim of contributing to filling this gap in Turkology and drawing the attention of researchers to these issues. This thesis, entitled "The Structural and Semantic Analysis of Kyrgyz Rhymes (Transcription-Translation-Analysis)," is a philological study focusing on the analysis of rhymes (cañılmaç), one of the genres of Kyrgyz folk literature. Kyrgyz rhymes were identified by searching through the book ""Akıl Kençi Kırgız El Cañılmaçtarı" (2016) by Oktyabr Kapalbaev and Nurbek Kalıgulov and other sources. The identified rhymes were transcribed using the Latin alphabet and translated into Turkish. The Kyrgyz rhymes were examined using qualitative research methods such as 'documentary screening' and 'content analysis'; they were evaluated in terms of structure and meaning using structural, phonological and thematic analysis methods. This thesis study consists of an Introduction, Rhymes in General Turkish Culture (Rhymes in Turkish Folk Literature and Rhymes in Kyrgyz Folk Literature), Transcription and Translation of Kyrgyz Tongue Twisters, Analysis of Kyrgyz Tongue Twisters (Analysis of Kyrgyz Tongue Twisters in Terms of Structure, Analysis of Kyrgyz Tongue Twisters in Terms of Meaning), Conclusion, and Bibliography. The Introduction section of the study provides detailed information about the subject, purpose, importance, methods applied, sources used, scope, and limitations of x the thesis entitled "Structural and Semantic Analysis of Kyrgyz Tongue Twisters (Transcription-Translation-Analysis)" and refers to studies conducted on tongue twisters. The first chapter of the study provides information on '"Riddles in General Turkish Culture (Riddles in Turkish Folk Literature and Riddles in Kyrgyz Folk Literature)." In the second section of the study, Kyrgyz rhymes have been transcribed using the Latin alphabet and translated into Turkish. The main section of the thesis is the third section, in which the rhymes examined are analysed under two headings: "Structural Analysis of Kyrgyz Rhymes" and "Semantic Analysis of Kyrgyz Rhymes". In the third section, all Kyrgyz rhymes identified were examined structurally; in the semantic analysis, not all Kyrgyz rhymes were examined, only some rhymes were given as examples according to the topic heading. In the conclusion section, the findings and information obtained in the second and third sections of the study are summarised. This study concludes with a Bibliography section.
