Participle affixes in the Kyrgyz Turkish: Form-meaning-function and comparision with Turkish in Turkay

Abstract (EN)

In is study the participles used in Kyrgyz Turkish, which have an important role among the dialects of Kypchak group languages, were investigated in terms of form, meaning and function. The study starts with the introduction of information about participles and eview of previous studies in the field. Thus, in the first part of the study, different views of scientific resources were discussed by giving theoretical information about participle affixes. In the later parts of the study, we tried to give detailed information about the verb, noun and adjective characteristics of the participles, the ability to form adverbial verb and preposition of the pariciples through using some exsepts from the works of Tölögön Kasımbekov, Baydilda Sarnogoyev and Memduh Şevket Esendal, all three being important contemporary writers of the Kyrgyz and the Turkish Literature. In addition, we tried to determine the similarities and differences in form, meaning and function between the participles in Kyrgyz and Turkish in Turkey. We hope that the defailed investigation of the participles in both Turkish in Turkey and the Kyrgyz Turkish in Kyrgyzstan in terms of meaning and function provides important contribution to comperative grammar studies and to the preparation of descriptire grammar of the Turkish Language.
