Names of farming tools and equipment in Kyrgyz language

The Kyrgyz people, like other Turkic peoples, have generally adopted a nomadic lifestyle in history and have added livelihoods such as animal husbandry and agriculture to their livelihoods, which they started with hunting. These livelihood activities have also affected the cultural and social lives of the Kyrgyz, and especially in their language, various names of tools and equipment in these fields have emerged. However, it cannot be said that these names of tools and equipment have been analyzed comprehensively from a linguistic point of view until today. This study was carried out in order to contribute to the elimination of this deficiency in the field of Turkology and to draw the attention of researchers to these issues. This thesis titled "Names of Farming Tools and Equipment in Kyrgyz Language" is a philological study conducted by diachronic and synchronic comparison method on words related to agriculture and animal husbandry, which have an important place in the vocabulary of Kyrgyz. First of all, words related to the names of tools and equipment used in agriculture and animal husbandry were identified by scanning method from K. K. Yudahin's "Kyrgyz Dictionary" (translated by Abdullah Taymas, 2011) and "Kyrgyz- Turkish Dictionary" (2018) prepared by E. Arıkoğlu, C. Alimova, R. Askarova and B. K. Selçuk. Then, the equivalents of these words in historical Turkish written languages and Turkey Turkish were determined and analyzed by comparing them in terms of sound, form and meaning. This thesis consists of five main chapters: Introduction, Review, Conclusion, Index and Bibliography. In the Introduction, the subject, purpose, importance, methods used, sources used, scope and limitations of the thesis titled "Names of Farming Tools and Equipment in Kyrgyz Language" and general information about agriculture and animal husbandry in Kyrgyz are presented. In the analysis part, which is the main part of the thesis, the words were analyzed under two sections: Names of Tools and Equipment Used in the Field of Agriculture and Names of Tools and Equipment Used in the Field of Livestock in Kyrgyz. The words were analyzed in detail with diachronic and synchronic comparison methods. In the Conclusion section, a summary of the findings obtained in the Review section is given and an alphabetically arranged index of the words in the study is added.
