Abstract (EN)

Enormous changes have occurred in the relationship between humankind and land in the last half of this century. Land had transformed from a simple wealth indicator of the man have owned to a limited social resource. That transformation had take out the land from the organic material of earth surface that has definite boundaries and ownership to the center of economical, social and environmental policies in the context of the sustainability. Consequently, management of land was redefined to attain the aim of land sustainable development.Information systems (geographical information systems) about improvement of living areas, management of natural sources, environmental protection and development of service presentation quality, etc. have been become one of the most effective tools of the administration units with the rapid developments in the information technologies.The most important approach, underlined by sustainable land management, where the economical, environmental and social benefits have been integrated, is the requirement of providing individuals and societies to take responsibility on the activities relevant to the land management for their own future.In the context of this study, general outline of sustainable rural land management for our rural lands, one of the most problematic issues for our national development, had been determined. Geospatial database and functions of a web-based information system has been designed for providing full participation of individual and society in rural land management activities, appropriate for national standards and future tendency according to this new outline of land management.Keywords: Land Management, Rural Land Management, Sustainability, Sustainable Development, Geospatial Database, Web-based Information System, Participation to Management
