Researching the attitudes of parents that has 5-6 years children group in city-center and country-side

11 ABSRACT This studying had been done for examining the attitudes of parents that has 5- 6 years children group against as the demogratic specialities and settling unit of in city-center and country-side. The sample of this study had been choosen; based on the 5-6 years population knowledge of state statistic Institude of Karabük province 2000, and with the change exampling method. İt had been taken for examine 117 parents from countryside and 264 parents from city-center (n=381) that had 5-6 years children group. İn the research a family knowledge form for obtaining the knowledge about the parents and Parental Attitude Research instrument (PARI) had been used for obtaining family attitude measurement. Analizing of the given data had been done by computer S.P.S.S 10.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program. To find the differences between the variance, double-dimensional and double-way variance analysis had been used. 0,05 level meaning had been searched in the statistics studying. The attitudes of the parents to their children had been found out differences according to the place where they live in a city or countryside. İn the countryside parents determined that they acted more protective strick and discipline that the city- center.Democratic attitudes hadn't indicated a significant difference according to settling unit. However according the PARI points, the parents in the city-center had more democratic attitude than the parents live in countryside. Beside this as the cultural level increase had observed that their attitudes had become more democratic but least excessively protective and strick discipline. Generally, it had determined that mothers have got more democratic attitude than fathers in both country-side and city-center. Key words: Pre-school term, parents attitudes.
