Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of quantum learning model on pre-service science teachers' self-efficacy and communication skills. The one-group pretest-posttest design was used in the scope of the research. A total of 20 pre-service science teachers who study at 3rd grade in Ahi Evran University in Turkey were involved in the study in the spring semester of 2012-2013 academic year. Seminars that maintained during 16 hours were conducted for the pre-service teachers in the research group related to "Quantum Learning Model" and techniques used in the quantum learning model. The application of the research was conducted during 8 weeks through total of 32 hours in the course of Science Laboratory Applications-II with laboratory experiments designed in accordance with "Quantum Learning Model". "Science Teaching Self-efficacy Belief Scale" and "Self-Awareness Inventory" were applied to pre-service teachers before and after the experimental procedure. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS package program. According to the results of the study, no significant difference was found between pre-test and post-test average scores of pre-service science teachers in terms of science teaching self-efficacy. There was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test average scores of self-awareness inventory of pre-service science teachers in favor of the post-test.
