The effect of the quantum learning approach on students' attitudes towards the Turkish language course

In today's world, there is a growing interest in contemporary learning approaches that consider individual differences in education and support students' active participation. In this context, the Quantum Learning Approach stands out with its student-centered and holistic structure, which is built upon the functioning of the brain, the nature of learning, and individuals' affective characteristics. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the Quantum Learning Approach on students' interest in the course, motivation, and overall attitudes. A quantitatively-driven mixed method design was used. The study group consists of 70 fifth-grade students studying at a public middle school during the 2024–2025 academic year. While Turkish language activities based on the Quantum Learning Approach were implemented in the experimental group, traditional methods were used in the control group. The "Attitude Scale Towards the Turkish Course" was used as the data collection tool, and the data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software. The findings of the study revealed that students who received instruction through the Quantum Learning Approach showed a significant and positive improvement in their attitudes towards the Turkish course. The results of the attitude scale and semi-structured interviews with the students indicate that the Quantum Learning Approach is effective in shaping students' attitudes toward Turkish language instruction. By addressing the learning process in a cognitive, affective, and social context as a whole, the Quantum Learning Approach offers a different and powerful perspective compared to existing instructional methods. With these characteristics, it stands out as an effective alternative method for teaching Turkish.
