Abstract (EN)
Responding to changes is the biggest challenge at the present time. The world has changed over time due to factors like environmental shifts, technological advancements, financially shifts, etc., which have caused changes in human needs and requirements as well. As a result, social and physical spaces have had to alter in order to create an environment that is both acceptable and comfortable for users. Residential spaces are comprehensive for all human needs, which began to respond to the change in the increasing population growth and urban development of cities through what are called small homes. The term small house has become the basic type of spaces adopted in housing, and the functional spaces in the small house have been modified to face these continuous changes to be an "interactive" space, as the research defined the interactive space as the space that is associated with the user and interacts with him by achieving a response to the continuous change in his needs, which is accomplished in three ways: altering the interior space environment and social requirements; altering the space physically or functionally; altering the space technically and technologically; and even adding multipurpose furniture. These responses illustrate the traits of interactive spaces found in compact homes. Three major projects are explored in this study including Project (A): Ciel et Terre Residential Tower / Molestina Architekten, project (B): Via Verde—The Green Way, and Project (C): MVRDV focusing on sustainability, flexibility, economy and environmental benefits as main theme. Findings suggests that MVRDV is more sustainable and flexible than rest of two and will offer a comfortable life to its dwellers. The primary objective of the research was to determine which attributes are most crucial to have. Small-sized homes can benefit from interactive space to maximize use and provide a cozy atmosphere for their occupants: These spaces need to be able to adapt continuously to changes in the internal environment (sustainable), to changes in the space's functionality and design (flexible), and to changes in the space's advancement of technology (smart).
