Abstract (EN)
Since the history of humanity, waste generation occurs after the use of natural resources. Human beings use natural resources to produce energy. It is necessary to use this energy produced in daily life. Excessive use of natural resources negatively affects the future of the world. The use of natural resources has created the concept of global footprint in the world. Global footprint is a concept that expresses the impact of human beings on the environment. The global footprint examines the impact of humans on nature and aims to achieve sustainability. Human beings should know how to live sustainably without destroying the environment they live in. It is humanity's duty to be sensitive to ensure the order and sustainability of the environment. A sustainable environment is important for future generations. Environmentally friendly renewable resources should be used for future generations to live in a prosperous and clean environment. Mankind has started production activities since the first day of its history. However, with the increase in industrial production, these production activities affect the environment and cause serious waste generation. It is important for sustainability that the wastes generated after the consumption of these products can be prevented and recycled. In order to prevent waste generation, people must first be made aware. In this study, Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method was used to analyze the global footprint of countries. Firstly, the weights of the selected OECD countries were determined by Entropy method and then the ranking of the countries was obtained by Topsis method. In this way, the impact of the selected OECD countries on the global footprint was analyzed.
