Abstract (EN)
The technological improvements and globalization process have created the opportunity for multinational companies to invest to the developing countries. Inadequate capital, technology and labor force of developing or underdeveloped countries have led these countries to implement policies to attract foreign direct investment to their countries in order to promote their economic development. The determinants of multional companies and foreign direct investments, which are an option of opening international markets, are also determined by the economic and political stiuation of the host country. In addition, foreign direct investments to host countries also have positive and negative effects on national economy. In the first part of the study, globalization, multinational corporations and foreign direct investment are conceptually defined. In the second part, the determinants of foreign direct investment and the effects of multinational corporations on the economy of the host country are examined. In the third part of the study, the impact of multinational companies on the economies of the host countries explained with the example Turkey's Economy by using SWOT analysis.
