Özet (EN)
Economics is a science that has existed since the beginning of human history. Economics and history are two concepts that cannot be separated from each other for this reason. With the Agricultural Revolution, a new concept called capitalism entered the literature, but it has not yet been called capitalism. Feudalism that continued from the 5th century to the 16th century later evolved into capitalism. With the invention of steam powered machines, the Industrial Revolution took place and a capital accumulation unprecedented in human history has been exposed until then. Thus, the first globalization wave phase was entered. With the intervention of world wars, although globalization has entered a disaster era, it has emerged strongly from wars due to the logic of capitalism. Globalization, expressed as the turning of the world into a single market, entered the literature in the third wave, namely after 1980s. Along with globalization, serious changes have occurred in urban spaces and the contribution of cities to the capital accumulation process has been critically examined. Uneven geographical development, which is a logic of capitalism, has clearly shown itself in our country. Given the disparities between the eastern and western Turkey, eastern impact on globalization is differentiated impact on a city with a western city. Regional development plans made to overcome regional disparities and Development Agencies established afterwards could not overcome this differentiation. With globalization, the differences on spaces have deepened. Diyarbakir in eastern Turkey has also entered into a transformation with globalization. In this city, which has a population of approximately two million, two different images emerged as a result of the terrorist incidents and migrations. On the one hand, lower class people who come with migrations and struggle with socio-economic problems, on the other hand, upper class people who live in the city but isolated from other people. Globalization has caused not only inequality in urban areas, but also inequality and injustice in income distribution.
