The effects of enterprise resource planning systems on the institutionalisation

Although Institutionalization and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems are two topics that attract attention in academic literature, the levels of interaction between the two topics have not been examined sufficiently. The research aims to measure the effects of enterprise resource planning systems on institutionalization in order to fill this gap in the literature. The research model was developed with reference to the Updated Information Systems Success Model by DeLone and McLean in 2003. Two main groups of participants, active ERP users and consultants, were included in the survey study prepared using the scale developed to test the model. In the analysis, the answers of these two groups were examined and difference analyzes were made. In addition to difference analyses, demographic analyzes were also carried out in detail. In these analyses, results were obtained that will contribute to the literature on the use of third-party software in ERP systems. Structural equation modeling was used as a method to test the model, and SPSS and AMOS programs were preferred for analysis. The measurement model was created using scales whose compatibility with the model was confirmed by exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of the path analysis applied to the measurement model, the direct and indirect effects of enterprise resource planning systems on institutionalization were confirmed and the hypotheses were supported. Additionally, the mediating effects of mediator variables were examined and it was observed that the mediating effect of the usage factor was not significant.
