Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is evaluated that seismic performance of reinforced concrete hospital buildings which have to serve after earthquake by the linear and nonlinear methods defined in the 2007 Turkish Earthquake Code and their strengthening is investigated. For numerical applications, 3-5 storied reinforced concrete hospital buildings are taken into considered, on Z2 and Z3 soil types and 1st and 2nd degree earthquake zone. It is determined that seismic performances of these buildings are insufficient. An adequate strengthening method is chosen and earthquake performances of strengthened systems are calculated by using performance analysis of the 2007 Turkish Earthquake Code. Also, availability of the 9 storied reinforced concrete hospital buildings which are consisted of high level ductility frames are investigated after earthquake.
