Abstract (EN)

Aim of this study is to explain and show the steps of candle mold making and casting tecnique in the art of jewelry and explain the ideas of the employees about this subject.The scope of this research consists of randomly selected 30 jewellry workshops and silversmiths in İstanbul and Ankara. Observation forms prepared by the researcher were presented to these employees. Moreover, 40 products which were chosen from the workshops were examined according to the observation forms and product analysises were carried out.Frequency and percentage estimatings were done according to the data obtained from the observation forms and questionnaires.As a result of this research, it is observed that the casting machines are of high capacity and the number of the tools is adequate in the workshops in Istanbul and Ankara. It is also observed that there is a high progress in design and casting tecniques along with developing technology.It is understood that gold and silver molding tecnique is better today than it was before. After carrying out interviews with the employees in the workshops, it is seen that qualification of the labor and the prices are significant factors for marketing.According to the observation forms, silver jewelleries are in the front rank, golden jewelleries are second. Nailing tecnique is the most used tecnique on the sample jewelleries. The most common design on the jewelleries is plant ornemantal design. It is seen that usually jewellery designs are created according to demands.
