Özet (EN)

The Surrealist, interpret Sigmund Freud's 'Das Unheimliche' essay as an art movement, they used mannequins, humanlike robots, superimposed images on photographs, deformed statues as a way to create uncanny feeling. Even after Surrealist movement considered to be over with the death of Breton, 'uncanny' kept its presence in all different forms of art and used as means to reflect on political and social issues. In the cold world era, the paranoia was reflected by the movie 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers', where aliens are undistinguishable from humans or their neighbors which creates an uncanny feeling in the audience. During the civil rights movement, the movie 'Night of the Living Dead', used uncanny to reflect the unease in American public. Today with the advances in technology, a new term is born 'Digital Uncanny'. Digital uncanny is a term which used to describe the uncanny feeling about how much the websites and applications that we use know about our habits, hobbies, their abilities to guess even our movements. There is a website that can create human looking faces that doesn't exist and there are programs that can respond like human does, that causes an uncanny feeling which is called 'digital uncanny'. 'Landlocked' short flim, aims to be a think piece about the effect digital uncanny leaves behind and the film is designed to serve this purpose.
