SUMMARY The objective of this research is to determine and compare general opinions between the modular teaching approach and the traditional teaching approach of the schedules, which are applied by the teacher's of Girl High Schools, Handicraft Department in their classes. Some of the findings obtained in this research within the scope of this objective are summarized below. The majority of the teachers in Girl High Schools are graduates of Decorative Products and Flower Departments; whereas the graduates of Embroidery and Textile Departments are the second. These program teachers thought "Embroidery with Machines" and "Leather" courses. The result of this research indicated that most of the teachers have a carrier of 1 1 to 15 years as a teacher. Teachers' opinions about the modular teaching approach and the traditional teaching approach are that: When comparison of the scope characteristics of the both programs, the teachers declared that the characteristics of modular teaching approach are less satisfactory and the characteristics of traditional teaching approach are significant. The teachers have compared the characteristics on the content basis they have stated that the characteristics of modular teaching approach are less satisfactory and the characteristics of traditional teaching approach are significant. As they have compared the application of the education it has been stated that the characteristics of modular teaching approach are less satisfactory and the characteristics of traditional teaching approach are significant. As the teachers have compared the characteristics on the assesment of information basis, they have found the characteristics of modular teaching approach less satisfactory and the characteristics of traditional teaching approach significant; IIIand as they have compared the characteristics on skill basis, they have stated that both of the programs are less significant. The teachers have also stated that they have encountered educational problems in both of the programs. With this findings when modular teaching approach and traditional teaching approach are compared, the modular teaching approach seems to bear problems, and for this reason the teachers find the traditional teaching approach more successful.
