The examination of peri̇pheral blood cells in some fish species living in Kızılırmak river

Abstract (EN)

This study has been conducted in order to specify blood cell morphologies of Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch, 1782), Capoeta baliki Turan, Kottelat, Ekmekçi & İmamoğlu, 2006, Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758, Luciobarbus escherichii (Steindachner, 1897), Squalius cephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) ve Tinca tinca (Linnaeus, 1758) from Cyprinidae family living in Kızılırmak River, and to determine the diameter dimensions of the eritrosyte celles and their nuclei these species have. According the the data received in the study, eritrosyte cells are oval-shaped in all the species, and they all have oval nuclei. Monosyte cells are also oval in all the species. The nuclei gathering on one side of the cell are either oval, similar to the a horseshoe or in the shape of a kidney. Lymphosyte cells are circular. Their nuclei is suitable for the shape of the cells, and they almost cover all the cells. Netrophyll cells are circular in all the species examined. Their nuclei are with three lobes in escherichii, and two lobes in the rest. Ezinophyyll cells are circular in all the species examined. Their nuclei is cumulated on one side of the cell. In the species other than S. cephalus, the nuclei are circular, but in S. cephalus, the nucleus has a multi-lobe structure. In the species examined, trombosyte cells are either oval or circular, and are specified to be seperate or cumulated in one area. Their nulei, which is in the center, cover almost all the cell. Results obtained through measurements of cells of the species yield close values among them. The big çap of eritrosyte is 18-21 μm, the small çap is 11-14 μm, whereas the big diameter of the nucleus is 7-10 μm, and the small diameter is 4-5 μm. The results obtained in this study are expected to make contributions in the fight against fish diseases and scientific studies to be carried out in the field of fish haemaotology.
